California GOP organizing Convention, Sacramento, CA , March 14,2025 – March 16, 2025
Report submitted by Richard Marshall, 1st Vice Chair, Siskiyou County Central Committee
The highlight of the Convention besides the voting was the Saturday night dinner which featured Riley Gaines, advocate for women’s athletics. Riley was 12 times the National Champion woman swimmer from U of Kentucky and known for campaigning against the participation of trans women in women's sports. She gave a very impassioned and impressive speech concerning support for Trump and his support of women in athletics. She was definitely one of the best speakers we have seen at a CAGOP organizing dinner. Many in the audience felt that she has a future in politics if she chooses to go in that direction. Speaking for nearly 40 minutes without notes and weaving athletics, politics and religion into a cohesive presentation. She received a standing ovation.
